Dear Ones,
San Jiao is an important term and
concept of traditional Chinese medicine. “San Jiao” (pronounced sahn
jee-yow) means three areas of the body: Upper Jiao, Middle Jiao, and
Lower Jiao. Upper Jiao is the area above the diaphragm, and includes the
heart and lungs. Middle Jiao is the area between the diaphragm and the level of
the navel, and includes the spleen and stomach. Lower Jiao is the area below
the level of the navel to the genitals, and includes the liver, kidneys,
urinary bladder, small and large intestines, and reproductive and sexual
organs.
The main function of the Upper Jiao
is to be in charge of respiration and blood circulation, as well as to spread
jing and qi from food to nourish the whole body.
The main function of the Middle Jiao is to digest and
absorb food, as well as to transform food to blood.
The main function of the Lower Jiao
is to keep the essence of food and to eliminate urine and stool. San Jiao is
the pathway of qi and blood. To promote San Jiao flow is to promote qi and
blood flow in the whole body.
Qi is yang. Body fluid is yin. Body
fluid includes blood, urine, saliva, and liquids of the organs and cells. In
traditional Chinese medicine there is a renowned statement:
Qi xing xue xing, qi zhi xue
ning
“Qi” means energy. “Xing” means move. “Xue”
means blood. “Zhi” means sluggish. “Ning” means stagnant.
“Qi xing xue xing, qi zhi xue ning” (pronounced chee shing shooeh shing,
chee jr shooeh ning) means if qi moves, blood moves; if qi is sluggish,
blood is stagnant.
San Jiao is the most important pathway of qi and body
fluid in the whole body.
Another renowned statement of
traditional Chinese medicine is:
San Jiao chang tong, bai bing
xiao chu
“Chang tong” (pronounced chahng
tawng) means flows freely. “Bai” (pronounced bye) means hundreds.
In Chinese, “hundreds” represents all. “Bing” means sickness.
“Xiao chu” (pronounced shee-yow choo) means removed.
“San Jiao chang tong, bai bing xiao
chu” (pronounced sahn jee-yow chahng tawng, bye bing shee-yow choo)
means if the most important pathway of qi and body fluid flows freely, all
sickness disappears.
I emphasize again the relationship
among jing qi shen:
Shen
directs qi. Qi directs jing.
Shen is soul, spirit, information,
or message. Qi is vital energy. Jing is matter. When you give the message, qi
follows. When qi flows, blood follows.
San Jiao Chang Tong is one of the most important
messages for healing all sickness. San Jiao is the pathway of qi and body
fluid. When you chant San Jiao Chang Tong, the message promotes the free
flow of qi and body fluid. When qi and body fluid flow freely, all sicknesses
will receive healing. Therefore, chanting San Jiao Chang Tong has power
and benefits beyond words.

Chanting San Jiao Chang Tong can be applied for healing any part of the body. Spend more time to practice. There is no time limit. If you have a chronic or life-threatening condition, chant for two hours or more per day. The longer you chant and the more often you chant, the better the results you could receive. Add all of your practice time together to total at least two hours per day.
